What type of vehicle should I buy? - mini roof rack

I've always been the engine of the VW Golf and I have a tendency to slip another golf or Impreza, but I have a big dog with a lot to me. With the seats folded, there is plenty of room for the dog, but sometimes the luggage space is somewhat limited, especially if you travel with a 2nd Person.

My thoughts are a different class or receive Impreza with Thule roof rack for the unit or just a mini-SUV. 95% of the time, the smallest car enough and besides, I prefer the feeling of buying a smaller car. The SUV seems for most of my needs too high.

I'm single, no children.
