Sailing or a powerboat?? - inexpensive sailboats

I've always loved the sea, dive and I live right on the coast (Long Beach) and now is the time I have a small boat, the first heel is.

I'm torn between a little more something like a whale or semi-pneumatic, or receive a small sailboat ...

Looking for a cruise around the harbor, looking for something good and something that can fit in my garage.
Perhaps a trip to Catalina on a clear day or sleep at night .. (the latter two are not so important)

Opinions? Recommendations? Boats?
